Individual Counseling

Adults are under tremendous pressure due to demands from work, family, or themselves.  It is normal to feel overwhelmed and express a desire for support.  Therapy is a confidential place to examine present problems, develop a plan for improvement, and gain sufficient coping skills to handle life stressors.

Couples Counseling

Couples may seek counseling from professionals when their line of communication or trust has been broken.  The emphasis of couple’s counseling is to help them improve their communication and connection with one another so that they can enrich their relationship.

Family Counseling

Families are seen together when one or more members are having problems.  Working together as a family is important to give everyone a voice and to facilitate a deeper understanding of the whole picture so that conflicts are resolved through working together.  Some common family related problems include the following:  poor communication between family members, feelings of being misunderstood, conflicts due to different levels of acculturation, and/or blending into a new family.

Adolescent Counseling

Adolescents are seen individually or with their families. Typically adolescents seek treatment because they have problems with poor peer relationships, drug addiction, social isolation, depressive mood, ineffective problem solving, low self-esteem, and engagement in self-mutilation behavior (e.g., cutting).
